UST Operator Training Resources for Tennessee
The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) has created its own free, web-based, interactive training application called Tennessee Tank Helper. Class A, Class B and Class C operators can leverage this tool to fulfil training requirements, or take exams through the International Code Council. More information on Tennessee’s UST training requirements are below.
Class A, Class B and Class C Operator Requirements for Tennessee
According to TDEC, Class A, Class B and Class C operators must complete a training course in one of the following formats: 1) Tennessee Tank Helper online training 2) TDEC in-person classroom training 3) International Code Council (ICC) National UST System Operator Exam.
If a facility is found to be noncompliant with TDEC regulations during an inspection, the operators must be retrained. In addition, if operators take the ICC exam, the certification does have an expiration date and would need to be retaken.
