Class A/B Operator Training Requirements for Rhode Island
RIDEM requires retraining of Class A or Class B operators every five years.
Antea Group’s Rhode Island Class A/B UST operator training course is available on-demand, making it easy for you to complete anytime and anywhere. The course is self-paced, allowing you to stop and start as many times as you wish.
Depending on the user, the training typically takes approximately four to five hours to complete. In addition, your course purchase comes with a comprehensive handbook that can be downloaded and used for the 75-question, open-book exam following the training, as well as an on-the-job reference material.
Upon passing the examination, you must then register as a certified operator with DEM for a specific facility. Please be aware that DEM is not notified of test results, and it is your responsibility to provide DEM with a copy of your certification and identify which facility you will be acting as an operator. A copy (photocopies are okay) of your certificate and the completed certified operator registration form (included with the training course) should be
sent to:

Class C Operator Training Requirements for Rhode Island
Antea Group’s Rhode Island Class C UST training course is available on-demand, and can be taken anytime and anywhere for your convenience. The course is self-paced, allowing you to stop and start as many times as needed. Class C training is facility-specific, so certification is only valid after signature approval by the Class A or Class B operator following a review of the UST system for your facility.
Class C operators must be trained before reporting to duty. Retraining is required for Class C operators every two years.
Reciprocity & Additional Resources
Rhode Island accepts Class A/B operator certification from any New England State for a maximum of one year once per facility. Once the certification is no longer valid, operators must take an operator training course from a vendor approved by RIDEM (and includes Antea Group’s training course).
