Course Descriptions

Antea Group’s combined Class A/B and Class C underground storage tank (UST) operator training and exam courses are approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s (PADEP) Division of Storage Tanks. Upon completion, you’ll receive a certificate that can be downloaded and printed for your records.

All courses will expire and must be completed within 90 days of purchase. Please also note to use Google Chrome or Firefox as your browser. Internet Explorer and Edge can have issues with some aspects of your course.

Class A/B

Antea Group’s Pennsylvania Class A/B UST operator training course is available on-demand, making it easy for you to complete anytime and anywhere. The course is self-paced, allowing you to stop and start as many times as you wish.

Depending on the user, the training typically takes approximately five hours to complete. In addition, your course purchase comes with a comprehensive handbook that can be downloaded and used for the 75-question, open-book exam following the training, as well as an on-the-job reference material.

Class C

Antea Group’s Pennsylvania Class C UST training course is available on-demand, and can be taken anytime and anywhere for your convenience. The course is self-paced, allowing you to stop and start as many times as needed. The training takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. As with most states, Class C training is facility-specific, so certification is only valid after signature approval by the Class A or Class B operator following a review of the UST system for your facility.

UST Training Requirements for Pennsylvania

PADEP requires the training and examination of all Class A and Class B operators through a state-approved third-party vendor such as Antea Group. There are no retraining requirements unless PADEP requires retraining if a facility is found to be non-compliant.

UST owners wishing to register underground storage tanks are required to document their Class A and Class B operators at the time of registration. This must be done by filling out the UST Operator Training Documentation Form and submitting copies of the operators’ training certificates.

In addition, PADEP requires the training of all Class C operators through a state-approved training course or by receiving training from the UST owner or Class A/B operator. Refresher training is required for Class C operators every year after their initial training. At minimum, the refresher training will review the facility’s emergency procedures to ensure contact information and storage tank components are current.

Reciprocity & Additional Resources
