Course Descriptions
Antea Group’s Class A/B and Class C underground storage tank (UST) operator training courses are approved by the District Department of the Environment (DDOE), UST Program. Upon completion, you’ll receive a certificate that can be downloaded and printed for your records.
All courses will expire and must be completed within 90 days of purchase. Please also note to use Google Chrome or Firefox as your browser. Internet Explorer and Edge can have issues with some aspects of your course.
Class A/B
Antea Group’s District of Columbia Class A/B UST operator training course is available on-demand, making it easy for you to complete anytime and anywhere. The course is self-paced, allowing you to stop and start as many times as you wish.
Depending on the user, the training typically takes approximately five hours to complete. In addition, your course purchase comes with a comprehensive handbook that can be downloaded and used for the 75-question, open-book exam following the training, as well as an on-the-job reference material.
Class C
Antea Group’s District of Columbia Class C UST training course is available on-demand, and can be taken anytime and anywhere for your convenience. The course is self-paced, allowing you to stop and start as many times as needed. The training takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. As with most states, Class C training is facility-specific, so certification is only valid after signature approval by the Class A or Class B operator following a review of the UST system for your facility.
UST Training Requirements for District of Columbia
The DDOE UST Program training guidelines closely mirror the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) grant guidelines and requires the training and examination of all Class A and Class B operators. Training must be completed through a department-approved third-party provider. Class A/B operators must be retrained and recertified every five years from the date on their certificate. Antea Group’s combined Class A/B operator training course for Maryland is accepted reciprocally by the District of Columbia for both classes.
In addition, DDOE requires the training of all Class C operators. Class C operators may be trained by the Class A or Class B operator, or take an approved training program provided by a third-party vendor. After the initial training, Class C operators are required to be briefed on new procedures or instructions every 12 months at a minimum.
Reciprocity & Additional Resources
DDOE may recognize certifications from other approved courses that follow federal requirements and are approved by the EPA. As previously mentioned, Antea Group’s Maryland training is approved by the District of Columbia.
