Course Descriptions
Antea Group offers Class A/B and Class C underground storage tank (UST) operator training courses that are approved by the State of Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC). After completing your training, you’ll receive a certificate that can be downloaded and printed for your records.
All courses will expire and must be completed within 90 days of purchase. Please also note to use Google Chrome or Firefox as your browser. Internet Explorer and Edge can have issues with some aspects of your course.
Class A/B
Antea Group’s Alaska Class A/B UST operator training course is available on-demand, making it easy for you to complete anytime and anywhere. The course is self-paced, allowing you to stop and start as many times as you wish.
Depending on the user, the training typically takes approximately 5 hours to complete. In addition, your course purchase comes with a comprehensive handbook that can be downloaded and used for the 75-question, open-book exam following the training, as well as an on-the-job reference material.
Class C
Antea Group’s Alaska Class C UST training course is available on-demand, and can be taken anytime and anywhere for your convenience. The course is self-paced, allowing you to stop and start as many times as needed. The training takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. As with most states, Class C training is facility-specific, so certification is only valid after signature approval by the Class A or Class B operator following a review of the UST system for your facility.
UST Training Requirements for Alaska
ADEC requires the training and certification of all Class A and Class B operators through a department-approved training program. After taking the Antea Group Class A/B training course, operators are also certified as a Class C operator in Alaska. After completion, each operator must keep a record of their certificate on-site and a current Class A/B Operator Designation Form must be submitted to the department’s UST staff. Our combined Class A/B training course satisfies requirements for both operator classes.
Class C operators may obtain their certification through a department-approved program or on-site training provided and documented by the UST facility’s certified Class A and/or B operator(s). All Class C operators are required to receive and document annual refresher training in addition to the initial training.
Reciprocity & Additional Information
The ADEC does accept Class A or Class B training from other states; however, training from another state must be formally approved by the ADEC, and additional Alaska-specific training will be required. Operators should contact one of the following ADEC employees for acceptance of their out-of-state training:
