Course Descriptions

Antea Group’s Class A/B and Class C underground storage tank (UST) operator training courses are approved by the New Mexico Environment Department, Petroleum Storage Tank Bureau (PSTB). Upon completion, you’ll receive a certificate that can be downloaded and printed for your records.

All courses will expire and must be completed within 30 days of purchase.

Class A/B

Antea Group’s New Mexico Class A/B UST operator training course is available on-demand, making it easy for you to complete anytime and anywhere. The course is self-paced, allowing you to stop and start as many times as you wish.

Depending on the user, the training typically takes approximately five hours to complete. In addition, your course purchase comes with a comprehensive handbook that can be downloaded and used for the 75-question, open-book exam following the training, as well as an on-the-job reference material.

Class C

Antea Group’s New Mexico Class C UST training course is available on-demand, and can be taken anytime and anywhere for your convenience. The course is self-paced, allowing you to stop and start as many times as needed. The training takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. As with most states, Class C training is facility-specific, so certification is only valid after signature approval by the Class A or Class B operator following a review of the UST system for your facility.

UST Training Requirements for New Mexico

PSTB requires Class A, Class B and Class C operators complete training and certification through a third-party PSTB-approved vendor. In New Mexico, operator training programs cover the training requirements for both above ground and underground storage tanks. After completing the initial training, refresher training is required every five years. Retraining is also required in the event of non-compliance.

Reciprocity & Additional Resources

The New Mexico PSTB does not accept certifications from other states. For more information on UST training requirements in New Mexico, visit: https://www.env.nm.gov/ust/OperatorTraining.htm.
