Course Descriptions
Antea Group’s Class A/B and Class C underground storage tank (UST) operator exam preparation courses are approved by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA). The final exam is administered online by MPCA.
All courses will expire and must be completed within 90 days of purchase. Please also note to use Google Chrome or Firefox as your browser. Internet Explorer and Edge can have issues with some aspects of your course.
Class A/B Exam Preparation Course
Antea Group’s Minnesota Class A/B UST operator training course is available on-demand, making it easy for you to complete anytime and anywhere. The course is self-paced, allowing you to stop and start as many times as you wish.
Depending on the user, the training typically takes up to five hours to complete. In addition, your course purchase comes with a comprehensive handbook that can be downloaded and used as an on-the-job reference tool.
Class C Training
Antea Group’s Minnesota Class C UST training course is available on-demand, and can be taken anytime and anywhere for your convenience. The course is self-paced, allowing you to stop and start as many times as needed. The training takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. As with most states, Class C training is facility-specific, so certification is only valid after signature approval by the Class A or Class B operator following a review of the UST system for your facility.
UST Training Requirements for Minnesota
MPCA requires the testing of all Class A and Class B operators. To receive certification, operators must score a 75 percent or better on the test. Operators are not required to receive training before the test, but it’s recommended. However, training is required if an operator fails the test or the facility is found non-compliant.
To assist operators in preparing for the exam, Antea Group offers a state-approved training and exam preparation course for Class A or Class B operators — something the state of Minnesota highly recommends.
For Class C operators, MPCA requires the training, but they’re not required to pass an exam. Class C operators can be trained through Antea Group’s approved course or by an on-site Class A or Class B operator.
Reciprocity & Additional Resources
MPCA does accept operator certifications from other states. Individuals seeking reciprocity must submit certification and information to demonstrate the other state’s examination is equivalent to the MPCA. For more information on reciprocity, operators should contact the MPCA at 651-296-6300.
