Course Descriptions

Antea Group’s Class A/B and Class C underground storage tank (UST) operator training courses are approved by the Washington Department of Ecology (WDOE). Upon completion, you’ll receive a certificate that can be downloaded and printed for your records.

All courses will expire and must be completed within 90 days of purchase. Please also note to use Google Chrome or Firefox as your browser. Internet Explorer and Edge can have issues with some aspects of your course.

Class A/B

Antea Group’s combined Class A/B UST operator training course for Washington operators is available on-demand, making it easy for you to complete anytime and anywhere. The course is self-paced, allowing you to stop and start as many times as you wish.

Depending on the user, the training typically takes approximately five hours to complete. In addition, your course purchase comes with a comprehensive handbook that can be downloaded and used for the 75-question, open-book exam following the training, as well as an on-the-job reference material.

Class C

Antea Group’s Washington Class C UST training course is available on-demand, and can be taken anytime and anywhere for your convenience. The course is self-paced, allowing you to stop and start as many times as needed. The training takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. As with most states, Class C training is facility-specific, so certification is only valid after signature approval by the Class A or Class B operator following a review of the UST system for your facility.

UST Training Requirements for Washington

WDOE requires the training for all Class A and Class B operators. Antea Group’s combined Class A/B training course meets the requirements of both classes.

After the initial training and certification, retraining is only required if a facility is found out of compliance. For retraining, Washington offers a free retraining course called Washington Tank Operator Training (WATOT).

In addition, WDOE requires the training of all Class C operators. Class C operators can complete training through Antea Group or another approved provider, or be trained by a Class A or Class B operator on-site.

Reciprocity & Additional Resources

Washington may accept reciprocity for UST operator certifications from other states; however, they are approved on a case-by-case basis. In addition, Washington-specific training may be required. States that provide their own state-specific training are not acceptable. Operators should contact the WDOE for approval:
