South Dakota UST Operator Training
Our Certified UST Training Offerings
Antea Group’s Class A/B and Class C underground storage tank (UST) operator training courses are approved by the South Dakota Department of Environmental Natural Resources (DENR). Upon completion, you’ll receive a certificate that can be downloaded and printed for your records.
All courses will expire and must be completed within 30 days of purchase.
Antea Group’s South Dakota Class A/B UST operator training course is available on-demand, making it easy for you to complete anytime and anywhere. The course is self-paced, allowing you to stop and start as many times as you wish.
Depending on the user, the training typically takes approximately five hours to complete. In addition, your course purchase comes with a comprehensive handbook that can be downloaded and used for the 75-question, open-book exam following the training, as well as an on-the-job reference material.
Antea Group’s South Dakota Class C UST training course is available on-demand, and can be taken anytime and anywhere for your convenience. The course is self-paced, allowing you to stop and start as many times as needed. The training takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. As with most states, Class C training is facility-specific, so certification is only valid after signature approval by the Class A or Class B operator following a review of the UST system for your facility.
UST Training Requirements for South Dakota
DENR requires the training of all Class A and Class B operators, and Antea Group’s state-approved Class A/B course curriculum meets requirements for both classes of operators.
In addition to receiving training through a state-approved third-party vendor, South Dakota has teamed with the South Dakota Petroleum and Propane Marketer’s Association to provide a limited number of state-funded classroom training events for Class A and Class B operators. Visit the SDDENR website for training dates, locations, and registration.
As for Class C operators, the DENR requires operators to receive training from Class A or Class B operators or an approved training program such as Antea Group’s course offering.
Reciprocity & Additional Resources
South Dakota does accept operator training certification for individuals trained out-of-state. If you are seeking reciprocity, you will need to submit your training material and certification for approval by the SDDENR. Operators looking for reciprocity should contact the SDDENR for more information on approved training from other states:
